RESTORATION

FIXTURE RESTORATION

Restoring or repairing a fixture requires much more
skills than creating one from scratch.

We must inspect the fixture, check the condition of the wood or aluminium, select the type of paint suitable for it, perfectly reproduce the colour and, if necessary, recreate parts that have been lost.

It is an operation that requires a thoroughness and a dedication more similar to that of an art restorer than to that of a craftsman.

It is no coincidence, in fact, that we often end up collaborating with Listed Buildings as well.

RESTORATION

THE METICULOUSNESS OF AN
ART RESTORER

Whatever building it is, you will have our entire
experience in restoring fixtures and frames such as blinds, shutters, windows and doors.

When repairing or restoring fixtures and frames, you have to deal with old, often very old, windows and doors.

An antique main entrance door, for example, requires extreme attention to detail both in the actual restoration and choice of materials.

For us at SAF it is not uncommon to work closely with Listed Buildings, especially when working in historic centres.

The Institution expects any renovation and restoration work to not change the appearance of the building, which goes hand in hand with our work philosophy: a restored fixture must appear identical to the original.

Therefore, even if you own a house in a historic centre or otherwise bound by Listed Buildings, we at SAF can assist and support you directly as we have already done with many of our clients.

Regardless of the type of building, you will have our entire experience in restoring fixtures and frames such as blinds, shutters, windows and doors.

OUR EXPERIENCE
IN FIXTURE RESTORATION

We like to be level-headed: we check
the state of existing fixtures one by one.

The first thing we always do when a customer calls us is an on-site inspection.

We like to be level-headed: we check the state of existing fixtures one by one, we make sure we fully understand the customer’s needs, we take note of any critical issues.

Then together we will decide what is the right strategy to follow for the repair. We will tell you whether recreating an identical fixture from scratch is cheaper than restoring the existing one, you will be the one to decide the way forward.
